   Dolgellau RFC -Annual Presentation Evening

The Clubhouse was packed to the rafters with senior players, youth players, supporters and members for the annual presentation evening. Chairman, Peredur Jenkins thanked Catherine and Aled Evans for preparing an excellent meal once again, and to Sioned Lloyd for her assistance.

The guest speaker this year was Gareth Charles, renowned rugby commentator here in Wales on all media fronts. His record on commentating on radio Wales and radio Cymru, S4C and BBC is a very long one, and he has been to all 8 rugby world cups as well as 6 Lions Tours.

His distinctive accent is well known to use here, and he delivered an often hilarious account of various tours with Wales to far off places such as Tonga, and his experiences with his fellow presenters such as Dr Gwyn Jones and Jonathan Davies. He is dedicated to full research to all the players which he is commentating on, which, at International level is easier than the Principality Premiership, because of the information, or lack of information, available.  He counts himself lucky to have the opportunity of interviewing rugby legends such as, Brian Price, Phil Bennett and the late, great, Ray Gravell, who became friends.  He knew Jonathan from Gwendraith School, as well as our own Clwb secretary, David Lewis, and he wished us  the best of luck for the new season in Division 1.

Coach, Justin Kelly, presiding, thanked Dewi Thomas and Mark Roberts for their support  during the season, as well as Clare Jones and the parents for their help.

Manager, Robert Williams reported on a difficult season , where they could only complete 6 matches for the season so only one trophy  :

Coach, Cellan Lewis thanked his fellow coach, Elen Evans and to Mark Lewis for his assistance with the First Aid at all the matches.  A special thanks to Glyn Edwards for preparing the pitch on matchday as well as for running the line, [for the last time this season]

Youngster Celt Lewis and Greg Smithies were mentioned for being involved in every game this season.
