Dolgellau rugby player raises  £960:00 in memory of Dafydd

A Dolgellau rugby player has raised almost a thousand pounds in memory of his friend and team mate who tragically died in Aberystwyth over ten years ago. Second team front row AlunJones took part in the Cardiff ‘half marathon’ last October to raise the amount for a new seat overlooking the Marian ground in memory of Dafydd ‘ Penbryn’ Williams. The run also donated £750:00 to the ‘Cleft Lip and Palate Association. 

Alun who took 3hours and five minutes to complete the half marathon  said it was the hardest challenge of his life but it was also the most worth while in memory of his friend and team mate. The new seat overlooks the recently refurbished second team pitch on the Marian which Dafydd played on so many times.
