Dolgellau RFC Enjoy Youth Presentation night 03.06.2017

Dolgellau  Rugby Club Youths celebrated their League 2 championship winning year in fine style last Saturday evening.

Held at the rugby club, over seventy players, relatives and officials enjoyed an excellent meal and year end awards for the players and club.

Having beaten Mold into second place, the Mawddach Valley lads produced an amazing 457 points tally with only 149points being scored against them ,the lowest in the league on both counts. They were only being beaten on three occasions.

The youths also progressed to the quarter finals of the WRU National Bowl Quarter final only to lose at the Marian by a big  Pontypool Youth side . Dolgellau lost 3-20 having been ahead at half time.

Lewis Jones took both the coveted ‘Players Player of the Year’ and a well deserved ‘Back of  the Year’ title.

Dafydd Roberts won the ‘Player of the Year’, with Jake Hinge winning the ‘Top Try Scorer’ title.

Dafydd George , ‘Most Improved Player’ and  Rhys Lewis ‘Best Forward’

END

The team will next year play in the newly formed North West Division. There will also be an East division. It will take the team as far afield as Holyhead.
